"Evaporation" is an evolving animation project developed in my Animation, Video, and Sound course at the University of Northern Iowa. The piece is a visual interpretation of the first phase of the water cycle, focusing on the process of evaporation. Through the use of abstract cloud forms and gentle motion, the animation illustrates the upward journey of water vapor with a serene, atmospheric tone.
The project blends scientific observation with creative storytelling, using smooth transitions, layered transparency, and a muted color palette to express the fragile, fleeting nature of vapor. My goal was to capture not just a natural phenomenon, but the feeling of something quietly rising and changing. As an ongoing work, I continue to refine its pacing and visual flow to better reflect the rhythm and softness of the process it represents.
